A = Arizona: A to Z Blog Challenge

    Arizona has many nicknames: the Copper State, the Valentine State, and officially the Grand Canyon State.

Historically Arizona was the 48th state, the last of the continental states to join the United States. It became a state on Valentine’s Day, February 14,1912; thus the nickname of the Valentine State. It been the largest copper producer in the U.S. and of course, is the home of the Grand Canyon.

Visitors come from all over the world to visit the historic O.K. Corral in Tombstone, Jerome a ghostly mining town, Sedona the center of vortexes and artists, spring training in Phoenix, world class resorts in Scottsdale also the home of West World and the annual Arabian Horse Show.
The Arizona State Capitol in Phoenix has a copper covered dome. The amount of copper would equal 4.8 million pennies.
