Remember When: Nana

This is my mother. She always dressed nicely and looked much younger than her age. She loved to cook, garden and watch her "soaps." She also loved her family.

Mom had two older grandkids but they lived in Colorado so being here in Arizona for the day-by-day events of our daughter's childhood was special. Mom loved being "Nana" and taking Jessica shopping, making her special treats, and singing songs.

I can still remember learning "Jesus Loves Me" from my mother and then listening as she also taught Jessica. Those are the special memories that tend to get lost over time. It's our job to write them down and to ask others to do the same.

Memoir Prompts:

What did you enjoy most at recess?

What is your favorite type of television show?

Did you have glasses or some other thing that other kids picked on you for?

What superstitions were you taught? Do you still follow them?

Are you allergic to any foods?

What is your favorite color?

Did you ever receive an Easter pet? Bunny or chick.
